PATROL CAR STRIKES UNOCCUPIED VEHICLE

A Niagara County Sheriff's Department patrol car struck an unoccupied parked vehicle Saturday.

Sheriff Thomas A. Beilein said the patrol car was heavily damaged but nobody was injured in the crash, which happened shortly before 9 a.m. at 5317 Upper Mountain Road in the Town of Lockport.

The department did not identify who was driving the patrol car.

The incident is being investigated by the department's accident investigation unit.
