Services for Theodore J. "T-Bird" Byrd and his sister Gladys Faye Harris will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 102 Linwood Ave.
Both died unexpectedly Tuesday. He was in Buffalo General Hospital. She was in her Buffalo home. He was 67. She was 69.
Mr. Byrd and his sister were born in Buffalo. He attended Burgard Vocational and Bennett high schools and earned his high school diploma while serving in the Air Force. He later graduated from Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a licensed practical nurse at Buffalo Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He retired in 1993.
The former Gladys Byrd attended School 41 and was a graduate of Fosdick-Masten Park High School. The mother of six, she was a homemaker. Her husband, Robert, died in 2003.
Mr. Byrd is survived by his wife of 45 years, the former Joyce L. Moore; a son, Robert A. Moore of Buffalo; two daughters, Pamela E. Salaam and Christina P., both of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Harris is survived by four daughters, Valerie Collins of Syracuse, Linnette Chambly and Leslie Green, both of Buffalo, and Felicia Fundador of Atlanta; two sons, Robert of Orlando, Fla., and Lakin W. of Buffalo; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Both also are survived by a sister, Kathrine Sommerville of Buffalo.
