GIRL, 17, FATALLY STABBED; BOYFRIEND IS CHARGED

A teenager was charged Thursday with stabbing his girlfriend to death along a trail at Cayuga Community College.

Bradley Laning, 17, of Auburn, was arraigned on second-degree murder charges after admitting to police that he killed 17-year-old Andrea Kell of Sennett, Chief Gary Giannotta said. Laning was jailed without bail.

Kell's body was discovered on the campus 23 miles southwest of Syracuse at around 4 p.m. She was stabbed in the abdomen at least once, and a kitchen knife was recovered at the scene, Giannotta said.

A witness told police Laning was with the body, and the boy turned himself in at police headquarters at 5:20 p.m.
