RAIN WASHES OUT FIRST ROUND OF BELLSOUTH

Rainy weather that has plagued the PGA Tour struck again, washing out the first round of the BellSouth Classic in Duluth, Ga.

So far this season, eight of the 14 tournaments have been affected by the weather, including last week's Players Championship.

"What a surprise. We've had such great weather all year," said Phil Mickelson, who is using the BellSouth as a tuneup for his Masters title defense.

Thunderstorms are forecast for today but the weather is expected to clear Saturday.
