MAN WHO MOLESTED GIRL IN DAY CARE SENTENCED

A 28-year-old man has been sentenced to 20 years in state prison for sexually molesting a girl in a child-care program run in his family's home.

Michael Ptak Jr. maintained his innocence Wednesday as Onondaga County Judge Joseph Fahey imposed the sentence.

Ptak, of Syracuse, was convicted in February of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse for molesting the then 10-year-old girl between Nov. 1 and Dec. 21, 2001.

Michael Ptak Sr., 56, Ptak's father, was sentenced in January to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony count of first-degree sexual abuse of a child.
