MAN, 18, BEATEN, TOSSED FROM MOVING VEHICLE

A young Town of Niagara man was robbed, beaten with a baseball bat and dumped from a moving vehicle Thursday evening by a group of people he thought were going to drive him to a party on Grand Island, Town of Niagara Police report.

The victim, 18, told police he met the group at about 7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Part Time Cafe, 3964 Lockport Road. Once inside their vehicle, he was attacked by four assailants and his jewelry was taken.

After the vehicle left the parking lot, the victim was thrown out along a deserted stretch of Lockport Road inside the City of Niagara Falls. A passing motorist saw the incident, stopped to help the victim and called police. The victim was taken to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.

The Niagara County Sheriff's Department, State Police and Niagara Falls Police are assisting in the investigation.
