JOCKEY BEGINS REHAB AFTER HIP SURGERY

Surgery to repair cartilage in the right hip of jockey Pat Day revealed more deterioration than was anticipated. But the Hall of Fame rider is recovering and starting rehabilitation.

The surgery could keep him Day, 51, out of the Kentucky Derby for the first time in two decades.

"We haven't thrown it out the window yet," Day said.
