Everett J. Smith of Fredonia, a retired trucking company owner, died Wednesday in The Waters of Westfield. He was 90.
The Fredonia native attended Fredonia Central Schools.
He had owned and operated numerous trucking companies in the area, including Merchants Motor Express, Dan's Motor Lines and, most recently, Smith Truck Leasing in Fredonia. He retired in 1981.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason and a member of Forest Lodge 166, Free & Accepted Masons, and the Jamestown Consistory.
He enjoyed camping and fishing trips.
His wife of more than 60 years, Clara Ann Hirst Smith, died in 1996. Survivors include a son, Daniel C. of Fredonia; two grandsons; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Gardinier-Colletti Memorial Home, 43 W. Fourth St., Dunkirk. Burial will be in Willowbrook Cemetery, Dunkirk.
