AnnaMae Vitale of Niagara Falls, a businesswoman in New York City before moving here in 1992, died Wednesday in Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo. She was 68.
Born AnnaMae Prevete in Brooklyn, she was a graduate of Long Island City High School. For several years, she was an Avon representative in New York City. She also worked in Manhattan as an executive dining room waitress for Burlington Industries and later as a bookkeeper for Bravor Plumbing in Queens.
After moving to Niagara Falls with her husband, she worked in the women's jewelry department at Kmart and most recently as a saleswoman for the Mikasa Factory Store in Prime Outlets.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Women's Auxiliary of Post 1142, American Legion.
Surviving are her husband, Dominick P. Sr.; a son, Dominick P. Jr. of Glen Oaks; three daughters, Laura Lasher of Niagara Falls, Frances Leyden of Middle Village and Marie Brom of Rohnert Park, Calif.; two brothers, Salvatore Prevete of Staten Island and Ronald Prevete of Wellington, Fla.; two sisters, Frances McGreer of East Meadow and Marie Harrigan of Boonton, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Prince of Peace Church, 1055 Military Road. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kew Gardens.
