A senior M&T Bank Corp. executive is moving on to a top job elsewhere, taking the role of president and chief operating officer of an Omaha, Neb., bank.
Frederick R. Kulikowski was named Monday to the No. 2 post at Commercial Federal Corp., parent of Commercial Federal Bank, an $11.4 billion thrift with branches in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arizona.
He was senior vice president for business banking at M&T, and had previously managed consumer banking and the company's 650-office branch network.
Before joining M&T, he was president and CEO of Citibank (New York State), a $6 billion-asset unit of what is now Citigroup. Kulikowski, who lived in the Rochester area but worked in Amherst, earned a master's in business administration from the University of Rochester's Simon School.
