It will cost residents more to rent shelters in Niagara County parks next year, after a schedule of increased fees was approved by the County Legislature's Public Works Committee last week.

Small shelter rentals will cost $25, up from this year's $15. Large shelters will rent for $40, an increase from $25.

Also, the county is raising the cost for renting the warming house at Bond Lake Park in Lewiston for special events. The weekday price will be $250, a $50 increase, while a weekend day will cost $600, a rise of $150.

The committee also decided to give away 45 old T-bars, once used on a ski lift at Bond Lake Park, to Erie County for use as spare parts for its county park ski lifts. Niagara County has not offered skiing at Bond Lake for many years.
