HAMBURG MAN FACES FELONY CHARGE OF DWI

Lackawanna police have charged a Hamburg man with a felony count of driving while intoxicated after finding that he had six prior DWI convictions in Erie County, including four in the last 10 years.

Officers Chris Caber and Mike Gawronski charged Tasso Woiczik, 52, with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and false personation.

Woiczik is accused of giving a false name after the Lackawanna officers stopped him for making an unsafe left turn while using a hand-held cell phone. He was stopped shortly after 3 a.m. Thanksgiving Day on Ridge Road, police said.
