Four Buffalo men were arrested Monday night after police found 56 bags of crack cocaine and a loaded gun when their car was pulled over at East Ferry and Moselle streets, Buffalo police reported.
Joel M. Matthews, 25, of Marne Street; De'ice Archie, 18, of Mohr Street; Paule M. Montanez, 31, of May Street; and Roberto J. Archie, 20, of May Street, were charged with criminal possession of a weapon.
Matthews also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, prohibited possession of firearms and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Northeast District police said they stopped the vehicle at about 10 p.m. because it matched the description of one involved in a shooting on Sunday at Schuele Street and East Delavan Avenue.
During a search for weapons, officers said they found a bullet and 56 bags of crack cocaine -- packaged for sale -- in Matthews' pockets. Police also recovered a loaded 9 mm gun and ammunition from the trunk of the vehicle.
No charges were laid in connection with the Nov. 28 shooting.
