Walter Joseph Kasprzak, a postal worker, died Thursday in Hospice Inpatient Care Center, Cheektowaga, after a short illness. He was 82.
Mr. Kasprzak was a lifelong Western New Yorker who was born and lived most of his life in Buffalo. He served in the Navy as an enlisted seaman during World War II.
He worked at the Post Office on William Street for the past 19 years.
He was a 25-year member of Adam Plewacki Post 799, American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, the former Monica Kasprzyk of Grand Island; two daughters, Rosemarie Kud and Joanne Kud, both of Grand Island; a son, Ronald of Grand Island; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered today in Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church, Cheektowaga. Burial was in St. Stanislaus Cemetery's Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, Cheektowaga.
