Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., welcomed congressional approval of $2 million for the expansion of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. The money was included in an appropriations bill that passed Congress last weekend, and is expected to be signed into law by President Bush in the coming weeks.
"The Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus is home to some of the premier medical and research institutions in the country," Clinton said in a prepared statement. "I have seen first-hand the groundbreaking work that is done on the campus, and I am pleased that we were able to secure these funds for its expansion."
The funds will contribute to a proposed campus extension of Allen Street across Main Street, and require renovation of the Allen/Medical Campus Metro Rail station.
