FALLS, ONT., MAN ACCUSED OF IMPAIRED DRIVING

A Niagara Falls, Ont., man was charged with impaired driving after a two-vehicle collision Friday in Niagara Falls, Niagara Regional Police reported.

Patrick Knock, 45, was westbound on Lyons Creek Road at about 11 a.m. when he reportedly ran a red light and collided with a sport utility vehicle heading north on Montrose Road, police said.

The 30-year-old Welland man driving the SUV was uninjured, but damage to his vehicle was estimated at $8,000.

Knock had to be extricated from his vehicle by firefighters. He was taken to Greater Niagara General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Damages to his vehicle also were put at $8,000.

Knock was scheduled to appear in court next month.
