A Mass of Christian Burial for Dorothy Jakubczak is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Monday in Assumption Church, 435 Amherst St., preceded by prayers at 9 in Kolano Funeral Home, 396 Amherst St. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Jakubczak died Wednesday in Millard Fillmore Hospital after a short illness. She was 73.

She was born Dorothy Zawisky and was a lifelong Buffalo resident. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and worked part-time as a sales clerk at King's Department Store on Hertel Avenue.

She was a member of Assumption Church and Niagara Frontier Post 1041 of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She volunteered at Millard Fillmore Hospital's Gates Circle facility, working at the information desk.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Frank; two daughters, Marlene Prather of the Town of Tonawanda and Deborah Raichel of East Aurora; a brother, Michael Zawisky of Elma; a sister, Anna Kapus of Grand Island; and six grandchildren.
