A Buffalo man was arrested Friday for crack cocaine possession after he was pulled over during a routine traffic stop in Grand Island, said the Erie County sheriff's office.
Ronald L. Russell, 30, of Shumway Street, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Buffalo. He was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and promoting prison contraband.
Police said Deputy John Davis stopped Russell on the I-190 and took him into custody for an outstanding warrant. During his processing at the Erie County Holding Center, deputies said Russell was found with crack cocaine hidden on his person.
He was being held Friday in the Holding Center on $1,000 bail.
