Mildred B. Bass, of Buffalo, died Tuesday in Deaconess Skilled Nursing Facility after a lengthy illness. She was 83.
Born Mildred Bell in Chattanooga, Tenn., she moved to this area as a child and was a graduate of Hutchinson-Central High School.
A homemaker, Mrs. Bass also had worked as an attendant at the Buffalo Psychiatric Center and Sisters Hospital. She enjoyed reading and travel, and was a member of Bethel AME Church and church-related groups.
Survivors include a son, Leonard of Buffalo; a sister, Shirley Badger of Buffalo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Bethel AME Church, East Ferry Street and Michigan Avenue. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
