A Mass of Christian Burial for Elizabeth Mary Deck Gruntz of Lancaster, a homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband's certified public accounting business, will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1085 Englewood Ave., Town of Tonawanda.
Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
Mrs. Gruntz, 77, died Monday in St. Joseph Hospital, Cheektowaga, after suffering a stroke.
She was born in Buffalo, graduated from Stella Niagara School and earned a bachelor of commerce degree from D'Youville College.
Mrs. Gruntz, who lived in Buffalo until 1951, in the Town of Tonawanda until 1988 and in Lancaster until her death, helped her husband, Richard D., especially during income tax season.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society and belonged to several bridge clubs. A volunteer at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for many years, she enjoyed quilting and knitting.
Her husband died in 1976.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Isherwood of Wainfleet, Ont., and Nancy Tepas of Orchard Park; five sons, Dr. Richard D. of McLean, Va., Peter A. of Herndon, Va., Michael A. of Ashbury, Va., William G. of Mount Holly Springs, Pa., and Daniel J. of Buffalo; a sister, Patricia Phillips of Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Gregory J. Deck Jr. of the Town of Tonawanda and Thomas J. Deck of Rochester; 21 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
