DISTRICT ADVISES PARENTS OF 'UNUSUAL' INCIDENTS

An number of unusual incidents prompted a letter home from Jamestown school officials this week.

Assistant School Superintendent Deke Kathman said the incidents included a "streaker" approaching two high school students in the Jones Hill area of town last week and a fourth-grade pupil from Lincoln Elementary School being offered a ride from a man she did not know.

Kathman told the School Board Tuesday that the district's Stranger Danger program appears to be working. And he reminded students to tell their parents or school officials about any odd or dangerous situation they may encounter.
