Buffalo Municipal Housing Authority police arrested a Dunkirk man early Tuesday after they stopped his car on Langfield Drive and discovered he was carrying a loaded handgun, authorities said.
Nigel Patterson, 29, of West Second Street, Dunkirk, refused to stop reaching under his car seat after Officers Ann Devaney and Adam Oshei had pulled him over for a cracked windshield and broken tail light at 1:30 a.m. on the 400 block of Langfield.
While searching him, police said they found a .25-caliber handgun with two rounds in it. Officers also found a bag of marijuana under the driver's seat. Patterson was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.
