I am so upset at how Veterans Day is celebrated. I am a veteran who served his country for four years in the U.S. Air Force, and I have to work on this special day. Why are the schools and banks closed, when 90 percent of these people never served in the military? Why should teachers and students be allowed this day off? When are we ever going to really honor our veterans who came forward to serve our country and those who gave up their lives so valiantly?
It's about time that all American Legion and VFW posts call upon Washington to pass a bill that allows the veterans of this great country to have the day off so they can celebrate and remember how proud they were to serve their country.
