OFF-DUTY DEPUTY NABS SUSPECT IN BURGLARY

An off-duty Erie County sheriff's deputy arrested a burglar in Clarence after watching him climb through an apartment window early Sunday, officials said.

Deputy Tim Carney was driving on Main Street at 7:25 a.m. when he watched a man climb through a window at 9345 Main St., deputies said.

Deputies Craig Parker and Carney corraled the suspect inside the apartment and arrested him without incident, deputies said.

Clarence resident Michael P. Lyon, 30, of Main Street, was charged with burglary. He is in Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Clarence Court.
