A Buffalo teen faces several charges after police said he fled from officers with three loaded guns Thursday night and broke into a neighbor's apartment to hide out with the weapons, some drugs and a bulletproof vest.

Gary Green, 16, of Jack Tram Court, was charged with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, burglary, unlawfully wearing a body vest, criminal possession of a controlled substance, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

Ferry-Fillmore Officer Jose Colon said he was patrolling on Pershing Avenue near Dodge Street when Green crossed the street near the police car.

Green then pulled a black handgun from his waistband and fled north on Dodge with the gun in his hand and holding his chest area, Colon said.

After turning onto Gerhardt Street, Green broke into an upper apartment at 30 Gerhardt, where Colon said he found Green hiding in a bathroom.

Green then fought with several police officers and was forcibly subdued, police said. Officers said they found the bulletproof vest, which they believe Green had been wearing, stuffed under a mattress with three guns, some crack cocaine and clothing.
