The annual food and toy drive sponsored by the Citizen-Police Neighborhood Watch Coalition and the Jamestown Police and Fire departments kicked off Friday and will run through Dec. 13.
Donations of nonperishable food as well as toys for boys and girls ages 5 to 12 can be left at the Police Department lobby at 201 E. Second St., as well as at all fire stations.
The Union Gospel Mission will receive all food donations this year. The mission provides a place to stay for homeless men as well as a food pantry that serves more than 100 area families.
The toys will be distributed to the Salvation Army to benefit its Angel Tree project.
