Just one week after our national election, President Bush's supporters on the religious right already have their demands on his desk. They want federal-level justice appointments only for those who are pro-life. They want Roe v. Wade overturned. They also want more government grants and dollar levels increased for faith-based charities. Last I heard, there is supposed to be a separation of church and state.
If Roe v. Wade is overturned, we will go back 50 years to coat-hanger abortions performed in back alleys, with young women dying again. If people think that Islam has extremism cornered, they are wrong, it's alive and well in America. A few want their will to apply to the many.
It's a shame that this nation will change in the next four years, and not for the better. Whatever happened to respecting another's opinion and belief rather than forcing everyone to follow your will? Are we as a people progressing? I think not.
