Jeanette M. Geist, who retired from Airco Alloys, died Thursday in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a 17-year battle with cancer. She was 73.

Born Jeanette Bowman in Niagara Falls, she attended local schools.

Mrs. Geist worked as a switchboard operator for Simon Oil before working in the same capacity at Airco Alloys, retiring in 1982.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a faithful fan of the New York Yankees.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Clifford D.; two daughters, Peggy A. and Patty L., both of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Sandra J. Alessi and Gwendolyn J. Kearney, both of Jamestown; and four brothers, Lavern A. Bowman II of Niagara Falls, Richard R. Bowman of Lakewood, John E. Bowman of Mahaffey, Pa., and Robert J. Bowman of Corfu.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in Zajac Funeral Home, 319 24th St. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston.
