I voted for Sen. John Kerry, and I have a son in the military. I wasn't in the majority of the "guns, God and gays" crowd. I intend to keep my Kerry/Edwards sticker displayed for the next four years because I will not take responsibility for what happens. President Bush, and all the people who voted for him, can. Upon reflection, I am actually glad Bush won. Why should Kerry have to clean up this incredible mess?
Our president has made disastrous mistakes in the war in Iraq, the economy, the environment, the deficit and civil (and eventually women's) rights. He has dug himself a hole that will be almost impossible for anyone to climb out of. The Bush supporters can take credit for this continuing disaster. The one great positive in the Republican devotees' decision-making process is that, thanks to them, the "security mom" is now safe. The Iraqi mom, of course, will continue to be dispensable.
