Seen by more than 55 million people nationwide, the Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes is the No. 1 show in America. For the first time in Buffalo, this magnificent show is at Shea's Performing Arts Center through Nov. 28.
The show features 12 numbers including the classics "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and "The Living Nativity." The sets were colorful and bright and the stage was surrounded with beautiful Christmas decorations. Scenery included giant Christmas trees with lit ornaments, and excellent lighting made it seem like snowflakes were falling. Live animals including sheep and a camel were on stage.
The stars of this show, of course, are the Rockettes. Their perfectly synchronized dancing and beautiful costumes were dazzling. From reindeer, to dancing bears, red Santa Claus costumes, and many more were simply breathtaking. Their truly perfect dancing couldn't have been better in the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers," a military marching routine that showed off just how talented these dancers.
A favorite was "The Nutcracker: A Little Girl's Dream" featuring bears dancing to songs from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" beneath a glowing tree. With Thanksgiving not quite here yet, not many people are in the Christmas mood, but this show will fill you with Christmas spirit. Everyone should see this spectacular show; it's an event that you'll never forget!
