Developers will have to pay substantially more to do business in Hamburg under a fee schedule for subdivisions and site plans adopted by the Town Board.
The fees had not been raised in five years, and an increase is needed to cover the town's costs, D. Mark Cavalcoli, deputy supervisor, said at a meeting Monday night.
He said the new fees put the town in the upper quarter of what area towns charge but not at the top. "We feel (the fees) are very fair," he said.
While some fees will remain the same, others will more than double.
The fee to file a preliminary plan for a major subdivision, for example, will go to $600 plus $200 a lot for four or more lots from $300 plus $50 a lot for six or more lots.
