4 UB STUDENTS CHARGED IN THEFT OF TABLECLOTHS

Four college students who later told Amherst police they were looking for toga party gear were arrested early today and charged with breaking into the Buffalo Niagara Marriott Hotel and stealing 18 white tablecloths.

Security officials at the hotel on Millersport Highway called Amherst police at 1:35 a.m. to tell them that they had two young men in custody and that two others had fled. Amherst Police Officers Scott Preston and David Moore caught the two other young men not far away, on Maple Road.

Police recovered the 18 tablecloths and a vacuum cleaner also stolen from the hotel.

All four young men gave addresses on the University at Buffalo campus. Charged with burglary and petit larceny were Robert F. Stockdale, 20; Patrick T. Otis, 19; Michael D. Gould, 18; and Eric J. Pollicino, 19.
