MAN SAYS STOLEN CAR CONTAINED CASH, JEWELRY

A Fiegle Road man told police his car was stolen Sunday morning from his driveway. And that wasn't the worst part.

In the car was $50,000 in cash and another $50,000 in jewelry, he said.

According to police, the man told Deputy Maurice Britt someone took the car and a suitcase in the car that had exactly $50,000 in cash, plus the jewelry, which was in the trunk. The man said he and his wife were getting divorced soon and he kept the property and personal papers in the car.

Britt told the man to come up with an inventory list for the Sheriff's Department's Criminal Investigation Bureau.
