A service for C. Richard "Dick" Horst, a retired jewelry salesman, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Amherst Community Church, 77 Washington Highway, Snyder.
Horst, a former Amherst resident who later moved to South Carolina, died Oct. 27 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was 78.
A native of Franklin, Pa., Mr. Horst was a graduate of Texas Christian University and served in the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a 32nd-degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite in Buffalo and Amherst Community Church and served on the board of directors of the Grand Strand Players in South Carolina.
A Masonic service will precede Saturday's service at 10 a.m.
Horst is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Geanne Renfrew; two sons, Randall of Cumming, Ga., and Richard of Clarence Center; two sisters, Louise Badman of New Bloomfield, Pa., and Jean Landy of State College, Pa.; and three granddaughters.
