William Lafayette Kelley of Buffalo died Friday in Nazareth Nursing Home. He was 80.
Born in Charleston, W.Va., he attended St. Mary's School for the Deaf.
Mr. Kelley was a prize fighter in the heavyweight division from 1948 to 1952. He later worked as a laborer.
He moved to California in 1981. After his wife, Sandra J., died in 1995, he returned to Buffalo.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda of Buffalo and Judith E. Miller of California; a son, William Jr. of Elmira; a brother, Warren of Buffalo; and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Lombardo Funeral Home, 102 Linwood Ave.
