American Red Cross officials have completed the successful "What a Difference a Day Makes" campaign to assist victims of hurricanes in the South.

The campaign raised $150,000 in the wake of Hurricanes Bonnie, Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, according to Todd and Erika Brason, who headed the effort.

Red Cross Executive Director Nancy Blaschak called it "the largest disaster response in Red Cross history," as tens of millions of Americans were displaced throughout Florida and the Gulf Coast states.

Among companies that conducted fund-raising events for the campaign were Willcare, Pomco, HRH Risk Management Services, Definity Health, M&T Bank, U-C Coatings Corp. and Account Solutions Group. Participating schools included St. Paul's, Wales Primary and Hutchinson-Central Technical High School.
