The blaze at the three-story house in the St. George section brought 12 Fire Department units and 60 firefighters to the scene. No civilian injuries were reported in the unoccupied house.

But seven firefighters were taken to Staten Island University Hospital and St. Vincent's Hospital at Staten Island with minor injuries from the fire, said Kevin Nolan, a Fire Department spokesman.
