Central District officers, responding to reports of a burglary-in-progress, spotted two suspects inside a home at 289 Highland Ave. on Friday night.
Police reports indicate the men had burglary tools and were stripping the house. They pried off antique leaded and stained-glass windows and doors.
Officers Edward M. Cotter and Timothy McDonald said they caught two men fleeing from the rear of the property.
Charged with burglary, felony criminal mischief and other counts were Matthew J. Marcucci, 30, of Dingens Street, and Robert Poulsen, 30, of Clarence.
Police said they were alerted to the burglary by a neighbor who lives next door to the unoccupied home where the break-in occurred.
