No mercy from Jolie ...
Angelina Jolie and her father, Jon Voight, were both giving interviews about their coming films last weekend in the St. Regis Hotel in Century City, Calif., but they weren't able to reconcile their very public father-daughter feud.
In an interview for her film "Alexander," Jolie, 29, told Zap2it.com, "I do not see any reconciliation with my father ever, no. There's only so much energy in this life -- I don't want him to make my stomach go into knots anymore."
Voight, 65, gave interviews for "National Treasure," in which he plays Nicolas Cage's father. "I love my daughter, I'm crazy about my daughter and I will not stop sending her my messages of love and will keep trying to reach her always," he said. Voight says he tried to reach her at the hotel, but she didn't respond.
Jolie doesn't want her adopted son, Maddox, to know his grandfather. "I don't want to worry about my son having problems with him as he grows up," she says. "I don't hate Voight -- I just can't have that negative energy in my life. We don't understand each other."
Calling it quits ...
Hugh Grant says he's lost interest in acting and is heading into retirement, reports MSNBC.com.
Grant, who plays heartthrob Daniel Cleaver in "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," said film acting is a "miserable experience."
"It's so long and boring and so difficult to get right," he said. "I am sort of semiretired. I keep thinking I'm going to write a brilliant script."
The 44-year-old actor, who took his new girlfriend, heiress Jemima Khan, to this week's London premiere of "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason," said he didn't feel pressure to settle down despite rumors of an engagement.
