Richard J. Hills Jr., a retired hospital employee, died unexpectedly Sunday in Buffalo General Hospital. He was 65.
A native of Tampa, Fla., he graduated from Howard W. Blake High School. He had lived in Buffalo since the 1950s.
Mr. Hills was an environmental service aide at Erie County Medical Center, retiring in 2002.
He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, music, dancing and darts. He was a Mason.
Survivors include four daughters, Felicia Stokes, Carmen Pace, Debra Wimberly and Pamela Wiggins, and two sons, Anthony Smith and Rodney Smith, all of Buffalo; a sister, Shirley Collins of Clearwater, Fla.; a brother, Rudy of Virginia Beach, Va.; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in Edison Street Baptist Church, 28 Edison. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, West Seneca.
