The historic lighthouses of the New York-Pennsylvania Seaway Trail will be the featured theme for the 2005 Seaway Trail Quilt Competition and Exhibition.
The top three prize winners will receive overnight stays at Thirty Mile Point, Selkirk or Tibbetts Point Lighthouse. Any quilter in the United States or Canada is eligible to enter up to two quilts of any size, hand or machine quilted. An entry form must be sent to Seaway Trail, P.O. Award-winning quilter Mary Knapp of Watertown has designed quilt patterns featuring nine of the 28 historic beacons along the Seaway Trail that runs parallel to the St. Lawrence River, Lake Ontario, the Niagara River and Lake Erie. Competitors may submit a variation of any of the nine designs or create an original quilt modeled after one or more of the Seaway Trail lighthouses.
The fifth annual Seaway Trail Quilt Competition and Exhibition will be held March 19-20 at the Seaway Trail Discovery Center.
