Services for Ernest Ricks will be held at noon Monday in Thankful Missionary Baptist Church, 197 Sumner Place, Buffalo. Burial will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery, West Seneca.
Mr. Ricks died unexpectedly Tuesday in Buffalo General Hospital. He was 71.
Known as "Ricky," he was born in Alley, Ga., and moved to this area as a young man. Mr. Ricks had worked for Bethlehem Steel.
His hobbies included car racing and hunting.
Survivors include his wife, the former Gloria Turner of Buffalo; four daughters, Toni and Sha'Hana, both of Buffalo, Corinthia of Toledo, Ohio, and Dorothea Aughtry of Buffalo; three sons, Ernest Jr. and De'Mario, both of Buffalo, and Terrance Wynn of Rochester; three sisters, Minnie Jones and Ruby, both of Buffalo, and Delores Mocko of Baltimore; two brothers, Robert of Buffalo and Willie Otis Jr. of Vidalia, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
