Peter A. De Marco, who retired from Braun Cadillac seven years ago, died Wednesday in Sisters Hospital after a brief illness. He was 72.
Mr. De Marco was born in Buffalo and lived in the Town of Tonawanda for 43 years. A Burgard Vocational High School graduate and Air Force veteran, he was service coordinator for the Braun dealership in Buffalo from 1948 until he retired in 1997. He came back three months later to drive the customer shuttle and remained behind the wheel until he fell ill.
He was a longtime member of St. Amelia's Catholic Church, a member of the Tonawanda Seniors Center and a golfer. He also traveled.
Mr. De Marco's wife, Norma, died in 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Carole A. White of the Town of Tonawanda; a son, Paul A. of Brighton, Mich.; two sisters, Marie Campanella of Rochester and Antoinette of the Town of Tonawanda; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Amelia's Church, 2999 Eggert Road, Town of Tonawanda, after prayers at 8:30 in Amigone Funeral Home, 2600 Sheridan Drive, Town of Tonawanda. Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda.
