A winter season ice skating program is being sponsored by the Buffalo Police Athletic League.

The Learn to Skate program will be held each Saturday afternoon at the Bud Bakewell Ice Rink in Riverside Park. It will begin Dec. 4 and continue through Jan. 29, 2005. Classes will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m. There will be no class on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1.

The classes are open to anyone, including adults. Participants must be at least 5 years old and be able to provide their own skates. Helmets and mittens are recommended.

A fee of $20 is required for the seven-session program.

Space is limited. Those interested can register at the Bud Bakewell Ice Rink. Additional information can be obtained by calling the Erie County Parks Department at 884-9668 or the Police Athletic League at 884-9681.
