ARTHUR J. NOWICKI SR., SHEET METAL WORKER
DIED NOV. 7, 2004

Arthur J. Nowicki Sr., a retired sheet metal worker and former Army sergeant who participated in the liberation of the Philippines during World War II, died Sunday in the Center for Hospice & Palliative Care, Cheektowaga. He was 81.

The lifelong Buffalo resident graduated from Seneca Vocational High School and worked at Engelhaught Co. He was a 50-year member of Sheet Metal Workers Locals 71 and 46 and was a pension and welfare trustee for Local 71 for nine years.

Mr. Nowicki served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 and received three Bronze Stars.

He was fan of the Buffalo Bills.

Survivors include four daughters, Carol Brader and Donna Wainwright, both of Buffalo, Pauline Schiffman of Nashville, Tenn., and Deborah Gworek of Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, Arthur J. Jr. of Toronto; a brother, Eugene of Buffalo; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn.
