A Gasport man stabbed during a party over the weekend in Hartland was upgraded to fair from serious condition Wednesday in Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo.
Garrett Presnell, 23, was stabbed four times, including twice in the stomach, late Saturday during a dispute at a party in the 3800 block of Robson Road, said Presnell's father, Frank.
Deputies on Tuesday continued to seek a man, who stabbed Presnell and another man, and ran over the foot of a third person with his car while leaving the Robson Road party, Niagara County sheriff's deputies said.
The man became angry when he believed one of the other party-goers was paying too much attention to his girlfriend, Frank Presnell said he was told by some of those who attended the gathering. He said his son was stabbed when he came to the aid of one of his friends, who had been talking with the suspect's girlfriend.
Surgeons at ECMC on Sunday repaired two tears in Garrett Presnell's colon.
"He's been through hell and back," his father said.
Presnell's friends were treated for minor injuries in Medina Memorial Hospital after the attack and were later released, deputies said.
