JULIA FREDRICKSON, RETIRED NURSE
MARCH 8, 1915 -- NOV. 8, 2004

Julia K. Fredrickson of Amherst, a retired nurse, died Monday in Brothers of Mercy Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clarence. She was 89.

Born Julia Katchmar in Bigler, Pa., she moved here in 1950 and worked as a licensed practical nurse for various physicians and private home care clients and at Sheridan Park Hospital. She retired in 1980.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral for 50 years and ran its children's nursery for seven years. She also was active with the Remokin Ladies Club.

Her husband, Madison M., died in 1958.

Survivors include a daughter, June F. Mikulski of Amherst; two sons, Gordon M. of Amherst and Gary M. of Chicago; a sister, Blanche Szwedko of Pittsburgh; a brother, Martin Katchmar of Enon Valley, Pa.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Pine Lawn Chapel of Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cheektowaga. Burial will be in Forest Lawn.
