TWO IN JAMESTOWN SEIZED ON DRUG CHARGES

A routine warrant check at a South Main Street address by Jamestown police Tuesday afternoon yielded two arrests along with drugs and other contraband, police reported.

Douglas P. Beardsley, 20, of South Main Street, and John M. Jones, 25, of Windsor Street, Jamestown were each charged with three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of marijuana.

Jamestown officers were conducting a warrant check at 186 S. Main St. at about 4 p.m. when they said they smelled marijuana. They said that they found a quantity of marijuana, cocaine, scales, cutting and packaging materials in plain view inside the house.
