George J. Strachan Jr., a construction worker, died unexpectedly Sunday in Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital. He was 44.
Mr. Strachan was born in Buffalo and graduated from Kensington High School. He moved to Florida in 1984 and worked in construction for Ziegler Corp. in Tampa.
He was a member of Lodge 1880, Loyal Order of Moose, was a Moose Legionnaire and served as a board member. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, cooking, swimming, camping, traveling and baseball.
Survivors include his wife, Jodi Crouch of Valerico, Fla.; two stepsons, Gene Crouch of Virginia and Chris Crouch of Brandon, Fla.; three sisters, Kathleen Evans of Laurinburg, N.C., Sharon Sikora of Lancaster and Shirley Keefe of Alden; two brothers, Michael of Cheektowaga and Thomas of Lancaster; and three grandchildren.
A service will be at 8:30 p.m. today in Amigone Funeral Home, 6050 Transit Road, Lancaster.
