Ernest Lawrence Harrington, a retired farmer, died Saturday in his Akron home. He was 94.
Mr. Harrington, who was known to his friends as "Ernie," was born in Clarence, where he worked on the family farm.
Mr. Harrington also drove a milk route, sold fertilizer for Agway and worked for the Dairyman's League for 34 years. He retired in 1972 but regularly cut and sold 100 cords of wood.
He enjoyed music and played the organ, violin, accordion and harmonica. He played in dance bands for more than 25 years and called square dances.
Mr. Harrington, a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Pekin, was the oldest member of the Harrington and Hollenbeck families, which held yearly reunions at the church. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Hope United Methodist Church, Upper Mountain Road, Sanborn. Burial will be in Cold Springs Cemetery, Lockport.
